Jewett Ranch House

Jewett, Texas | Schematic Design and Design Development

This modern ranch house in Jewett, Texas is a two-story residence featuring 3 bedrooms, and a lofted living room. The layout balances rural functionality with contemporary living, creating a durable yet refined home suited for active land use.

A detailed solar study informed the building orientation, roof geometry, and opening placement to mitigate heat gain and improve passive performance in the hot Texas climate. These early environmental considerations support long-term comfort, energy efficiency, and future solar integration.

The project was developed through multiple collaborative design meetings with the client to refine spatial needs, aesthetics, and operational requirements. Preliminary coordination with structural engineers was also conducted to align architectural intent with efficient, buildable structural systems.
